Our Context
It’s important to note that predominantly, Kenyan economy is build from farming; thus-Coffee, Tea, Flowers ,Dairy, Tourism and other substantive businesses from transport industry ‘matatus’, Hotel industry, International businesses like schools, NGOs, big and small industries. Nyeri town enjoys all these opportunities and is rapidly changing. Citizen’s views of the world around them, the way of life, places of worship, the impact of westernization – is all modifying. The younger generation (who are our main target) in particular are becoming more visual oriented, more demanding of brilliance and high standards, more eager for accountable leadership and applicability. This is in the midst of increasingly dysfunctional societies, escalating poverty, insecurity, poor governance and never ending time constrictions. Therefore, if the gospel through the churches are to remain relevant, then we must speak into this context, and continually ‘re-engineer’ ourselves’ without compromising on our mission and gospel. We must constantly embrace new technological advances, new ministry forms, new music, new service structure, and the ever changing youth culture.
Our Affiliation
Nyeri Elevation Chapel is affliated to Converge (USA), which is a crusade of churches working to assist people meet, know and follow Jesus. We do this by starting and strengthening churches together worldwide.
For over 165 years Converge has helped churches bring life change to communities in the U.S.A and around the world through church planting and multiplication, leadership training and global missions.
We are delighted to pioneer converge vision in African-Kenya. This gives us global accountability and mentorship even as we fellowship and partner with a team of local pastors for the same course.
